To start the sushi was good but the food was not up to par! We ordered the chicken teriyaki and rice as a entree, the rice was cold and chicken was rubbery and lacked flavor! When we left the restaurant the owner chased us down and asked if we hated his restaurant because we left no tip. Furthermore he went on to say if we weren't going to tip then we needed to just order takeout! He was very rude, Needless to say we will not be going back!

Good sushi. It's hard to difficult to find good sushi place in Volusia. Have not found anything comparable yet.

Very good. Cute. Good prices. Good service. Large hot sake. Great dynamite roll!! Hard to find. Behind eye center in big lots center.

I guess I'm kind of a sushi snob, but this place was not good. Shumai appetizer was the highlight, everything else was pasty and flavorless.

I cannot stop eating at YuMi. It. Is. So. Good. The waiters/ waitresses are so nice. It's small enough so that if you keep going there they recognize you, and are even nicer! The rolls are made beautifully. I'm very picky about sushi (it's a textural thing), and theirs never bothers me. Their teriyaki dishes are fantastic (especially the beef). My go-to roll is the Ginza, or Tokyo Love Story. As long as I live here, I will always go to YuMi!

I found a gem in Volusia County! Sadly, this place is a little hard to find, but it is definitely worth it! If you GPS it, you'll question your directions, but find this place because its well worth it. I went for both lunch and dinner during the same week (it was that good, it called me back). I ordered the sashimi platter both times. I am amazed at the lunch bargain. I think it was $12 for a dinner size portion of great, fresh fish, each piece (I think it was 12 pieces) was a very generous amount. All of the pieces were delicious and none of them were questionable (the snapper definitely was snapper, etc). The dinner experience was great also, prices were higher, but still comparable to Takaya and other competitors, but again, larger portions. The service was superb and the chef/owner was very accommodating and service oriented. This is the kind of place that I am excited to support!

2 stars because the service was great. Sushi was terrible. I have tried sushi up and down the East coast, but this has sadly been the worst. Prices are average, but the dynamite roll had a gross mixture of something on top and it immediately made the roll soggy. The endless rain was below average and the shrimp was over cooked and dried out. I tipped well for the service, but will never return. Takara was much better on the other side of 95. - Sushi King

Best sushi place in town. Decent prices and a very calm place to sit down and enjoy your food. It's a pretty small restaurant hidden in between, but there is almost never any other people there so you can pick the table you want. The service is excellent and I never got any bad food here. With the food and prices in mind, 5 stars no doubt.

Yu mi is one of the best sushi places I have ever visited. I'm worried about their location being hidden. I hope they continue to receive a lot of business. The sushi is very affordable and we love that its a small intimate place. We are regulars there and hope everyone else will give it a chance.

Ok, walked in this place for lunch yday. Wanted veggie sushi & other things. First let down was they had NO SWEET TEA! WTF? We are still in the South, aren't we??? People here drink SWEET TEA! Get a clue! I'll not be back for this main reason. Second thing I noticed was their menu was TINY. It had little to nothing to offer a vegan/vegetarian & they do not offer tofu! I ordered some Edmame, was the tiniest portion I've ever seen - for $5! Ok now Third thing is the prices. Their veggie sushi rolls cost $5 EACH! They were cut into 6 teeny-tiny pieces (I'm used to getting 8 nice sized pieces per roll & paying $3.50 per roll). Then the fact that not a single piece stayed together when I picked it up with the chopstix. Was like fishing for rice & avocado in soy sauce. It was the WORST sushi experience I've ever had. The waitress was a clueless ditz & knew nothing about the food she served when I had questions. All she knew were robotic movements: take order, deliver watery drinks, bring food, don't check back til food is gone & then only bring bill, expect nice tip...and she wasn't even Asian! As I got up from my table to walk out, I glanced at the sushi chef & his finger was in his flared nostril while he was turned at an angle & thought nobody could see. For the $35 it cost me to have a quick light lunch, I should have taken time to drive out to Wasabi Bowl, where I know the food will be good & I'll get my $'s worth. This was a waste of time & money. Not worth a 2nd try.

I have tried quite a few different sushi places in many different places over the past couple years, but I have never really had a bad experience anywhere, until I went here. The place seemed like it had a nice atmosphere, so I give it like a B+ on that. I ordered the veggie roll, which was a little pricey for a veggie roll, and my friend ordered california rolls. When the waitress brought them out (keep in mind we were the ONLY customers in the restaurant), she gave us the wrong rolls. As many may know veggie rolls and california rolls are pretty similar, so I didn't really notice that we had the wrong thing. The waitress comes over right as we are eating our last bit of sushi and says " oops, i gave you the wrong rolls they were supposed to be switched". Great job there, not. The sushi did not taste good at all, and went home feeling kind of sick after. I STRONGLY recommend you do not eat here and take your time and money elsewhere. Takara in Port Orange is 100 times better.

Great food and service. Not on the menu no problem, they will create your perfect entree. Very clean. Would definitely visit again.
